Case Study: Dining Area Design for the Chemical Product Factory of Tluu-Chemi

dining area

When tasked with designing the dining area for a chemical product factory, our challenge was to create a vibrant, welcoming space while working within the constraints of the existing silver ceramic walls. We wanted to strike the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the workers had a comfortable place to relax and enjoy their meals.

Concept & Approach

To break away from the cold, industrial feel of the silver tiles, we focused on natural elements that would soften the space. Incorporating plants, wood accents, and flower boxes, we aimed to bring warmth and a touch of nature into the dining area. The rich textures and organic elements helped create a calm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for workers to unwind during their breaks.

Design Elements

  • Layout & Furniture: We carefully designed the layout to maximize comfort and encourage a sense of openness. The arrangement of tables and seating areas allows for both individual and group dining experiences.
  • Bar & Cooking Area: In a relatively small space, we designed a bar section and a compact cooking area to provide convenience for workers, allowing them to enjoy snacks or quick meals without leaving the dining space. The efficient use of the available area helped integrate both functionality and relaxation.
  • Natural Touches: Flower boxes and plants were strategically placed to add colour and life to the space, offering a refreshing contrast to the industrial surroundings.
  • Materials: The use of wood for furniture and accents brought a warm, earthy quality that balanced the silver ceramics, creating a more inviting and functional environment.

Before and After

To truly understand the transformation, take a look at the before pictures and design renders below. The “before” images showcase the existing space, which was dominated by the silver ceramic walls and lacked the warmth we envisioned.

Our renders demonstrate the vision we brought to life, showing how the careful integration of natural elements revitalized the dining area and created a more inviting, functional space for the workers.

The end result was a space that not only served its practical purpose but also fostered a sense of tranquillity and connection with nature, improving the overall dining experience for the factory workers.
