POOYA- A Business Café for Mr. Abdolazimi: Crafting a Space of Emotions and Experiences

Introduction

When Mr. Abdolazimi approached us with his vision for a business café, he had a clear goal in mind: to create a space that wasn’t just functional but also deeply engaging—one that would evoke emotions and leave a lasting impression on every visitor. He wanted the café to stand out as a hub of creativity, connection, and intrigue.

The Brief

• Through our initial meetings and consultations with Mr. Abdolazimi, the Cortexarch team concluded the following key ideas:
• He wanted areas that felt mysterious and intimate, where patrons could reflect or hold private discussions.
• He envisioned moments of awe that would leave guests inspired and impressed.
• He sought to spark curiosity, encouraging people to explore and linger.
• And, most importantly, he wanted elements of surprise to make the space truly unforgettable.

As we discussed these ideas, we knew this project would require a blend of bold creativity and thoughtful design principles.

Design Process

Step 1: Understanding the Space
We began with a thorough analysis of the existing space, noting its limitations and potential. The café had a solid foundation but lacked personality—it was a blank slate ready for transformation.

Step 2: Conceptualizing Emotions Through Design
Guided by Mr. Abdolazimi’s vision, we translated emotions into design elements:

1. Suspicion:
   We advised dark, muted tones, including shades of brown, and introduced harsh lighting contrasts to create an air of intrigue. Angular shapes and enclosed spaces were designed to invite quiet contemplation and a sense of mystery.
2. Awe:
   Awe came alive through unique shapes, bold color contrasts, and natural elements like greenery and glass. Large-scale art installations became focal points, and ample natural light brought the entire space to life.
3. Curiosity:
   Geometric patterns in the partitions, paired with bright, playful colors, encouraged exploration and discovery.
4. Surprise:
   We incorporated unconventional shapes in the décor—features that delighted visitors as they moved through the space.

Throughout the design process, we kept close communication with Mr. Abdolazimi, sharing updates and collaborating to refine the details.

The Transformation
